We are looking to hire an Heavy Duty Gas Turbine Mechanical Technician to work in various projects that we are conducting around the world.
Job Summary
Primary responsibility of the mechanical technician is to safely accomplish on-site maintenance and repair activities of heavy-duty gas turbines used mainly in power generation applications. Mechanical Technician reports to Supervisor during execution of maintenance scope.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In depth knowledge of GE Frame 9, Frame 7, Frame 6 and Frame 5 Turbine technologies proven with projects and references.
HyTorc, ITH, Riverhawk user certificates
Working level fluency in verbal, oral and written English
Hands-on working on heavy duty gas turbine components and equipment.
On-site maintenance using a variety of hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools.
Removal, cleaning and installation of turbine components as required.
Ability to use special maintenance tools/ equipment (ie., Hytorc, Riverhawk, ITH)
Ability to maintain heavy workload and tasks
Perform requested checks by using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches.
Availability to travel for assignments extended periods of time
Travel may be required to different countries as per Project locations
Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
Required Qualifications and Experience
5+ years of experience on heavy duty gas turbines on-site maintenance activities (especially on GE Frame Series ie., Frame 3-5-6-7-9, GE10)
Certification to use special maintenance tools/equipment (ie. Hytorc, Riverhawk, ITH)
Must have experience maintaining, dismantling and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators and turbines
Must have experience performing equipment alignments using either laser or traditional methods
Solid skills to disassemble and resassemble complex rotating equipment
Good mechanical/technical skills
May be required to handle time-sensitive tasks and maintain a schedule within operationally challenging environments
Must work well both independently and in a team environment
